Job Summary:

The Data Quality Analyst lead provides continuous automated/manual testing of data sets for use in internal data systems. The data quality analyst lead works alongside the data technology team with Data Architect, Data Engineers & Data Modeler. 


Responsibilities:

  • The main responsibility is to ensure that the data used within the organisation is accurate, consistent, and reliable. You'll be tasked with identifying data issues, developing strategies to address them, and implementing quality control measures to maintain high standards across datasets.
  • Establish the overall testing strategy, including selecting appropriate testing tools and methodologies for both manual and automated testing.
  • Create detailed test plans outlining the scope, approach, resources, and schedule of intended testing activities.
  • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand the requirements and data flows.
  • Understanding & analysing the requirements, and preparing comprehensive test documents like Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Cases and Test Scripts.
  • Perform data validation to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and consistency across different stages of data processing. (Preferably on data lakes / data warehouses etc.)
  • Validate ETL processes by ensuring that data is correctly extracted, transformed, and loaded into the target systems.
  • Execute manual test cases, particularly for new or complex scenarios that are not yet automated.
  • Run automated test suites regularly to identify any regressions or issues in the data pipelines.
  • Assess the performance of data processes to ensure they meet the required performance benchmarks.
  • Prepare and present detailed test reports summarizing test activities, results, defects, and overall quality of the data warehouse.
  • Basic understanding of data warehouse processes complies with banking regulations and standards such as Basel III, SOX, GDPR, etc.
  • Validate that data security measures are in place to protect sensitive banking data, including testing for data encryption, access controls, and data masking.


Experience / Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience) 
  • Overall 7+ years of experience in testing with approx. 4+ years of experience in ETL/Big Data, Snowflakes & BI Testing.
  • Utilize and maintain test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.
  • Work with any one of the data engineering tools and platforms like Apache Spark, Hadoop, SQL, ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend), and data visualization tools.
  • Candidate should have good communication, analytical and presentation skills
  • Assist in developing and maintaining data governance policies and standards. 
  • Knowledgeable about industry data compliance strategies and practices, such as continuous integration, regression testing and versioning.
  • Familiarize with banking-specific tools and technologies used in the data warehouse project.
